Rose first appeared as companion to the Ninth Doctor in 2005 and was played by Billie Piper, With the relaunch of Doctor Who to a whole new audience, Rose became the viewers' eyes into the new world of Doctor Who, from the companion's perspective. Rose is a no nonsense down to earth teenage shop assistant who actually falls in love with the Doctor.  She is companion to both the ninth and tenth Doctors from 2005 to 2006.  She returns in 2008, 2010 and again in 2013 for specials.
