Derek Jacobi gave us Professor Yana, who was a human identity the Master created for himself. He had retained the Master's brilliant intellect and became a scientist.  He was essentially a force for good and had forgotten his past lives until Martha spotted a certain watch in his possession and kicked it all off again!  Missy referred to Yana as 'The nice one' when talking about her other selves.
