Lucius Malfoy, father of Draco and governor of Hogwarts is also a Death eater and supporter of Voldemort and the Dark Arts.  He plants the Tom Riddle diary on Ginny and tricks her into opening the chamber of secrets to instigate attacks on muggle born students. He is ultimately defeated and tricked into losing his house elf by Harry.
