Hagrid is the huge, soft hearted half human-half giant who first comes to find Harry and inform him of his new future as a Wizard at Hogwarts. He is childlike in many ways but also very wise in others. Hagrid is fiercely loyal to Harry and Dumbledore, but is happiest with his animals in his Gamekeepers lodge on the edge of the school grounds.
