The irrepressible Captain Jack was brought to us John Barrowman in association with the Ninth Doctor in 2005.  He was an instant with audiences and pretty much everyone loves Captain jack he seems to want to love everyone in return, so that's nice.  He was then to be found in the brilliant spin off Torchwood where he headed his own team.  Torchwood ran from 2006 to 2011. We have not seen the last of Captain Jack though as he keeps coming back and his latest appearance was with Jodie Whittakers 13th Doctor.
