Peter Capaldi brought us something completely different!  We got a good insight into what this was going to be when he first appeared 'These are attack eyebrows'  'It's good I'm Scottish.  I can really complain about things now.' Capaldi's portrayal of the Doctor is a spiky, brusque, contemplative, and pragmatic character who conceals his emotions in the course of making tough and sometimes ruthless decisions.  He was our Doctor from August 14 to December 17 and appeared in 35 episodes over 3 seasons.
